Thanks to the open bridge design, users can hold the EDX binoculars 10x50 comfortably in one hand, even in winter while wearing gloves. Materials such as magnesium, aluminium and polycarbonate ensure maximum durability as well as a very low weight, at just 175 mm in total length and 887 g. The slim housing is covered with a grippy rubber armouring. Made from natural rubber, it not only guarantees durability but also provides significantly improved grip and slip resistance. The hard-wearing metal alloy eyecups optimally protect the eyepieces; the binoculars are also waterproof and fog-free. With just 1,5 turns, the entire focusing range can be set precisely, making it quick to pick out even the smallest details. The dioptre adjustment for spectacle wearers is located on the right eyepiece and can be locked in place once adjusted.

Spectacle wearers can adjust the eyecups comfortably to one of four click-stop positions to achieve the perfect eye relief and avoid losing part of the field of view. The click-stop positions can be locked securely. The clearly defined mechanism prevents accidental adjustment.
Premium optics for brilliant image reproduction and sharp resolution
While the EDX 10x50 is based on the tried-and-tested roof prism system (Schmidt-Pechan), the types of glass used for these binoculars have been developed entirely anew. This innovative ED glass (Extra Low Dispersion) reduces colour fringing even more effectively than most ED glass used to date. The result for the user is perfectly balanced, brilliant colours. The newly developed PHC 140 phase-correction coating for the EDX 10x50 eliminates 99 % of all unwanted wave-optical effects, thereby preventing even the slightest blurring.
Innovative coating guarantees razor-sharp contours
The EDX 10x50 reproduces the optical image in maximum resolution and detail, in line with the latest technology, without edge blurring. This is guaranteed by the special DDlucid coating, which is also applied to the two roof surfaces of the Schmidt-Pechan roof prism. Originating in the Japanese photographic industry, this coating is a further development of the well-known and proven ELR (Extra Low Reflection) coating. DDlucid is one of the most effective binocular coatings. At present, only premium binoculars feature coatings of a similarly advanced standard.
